About the Role
The Infrastructure & Project Finance Credit team is on the lookout for a dynamic and rewarding position of Credit Officer. We are a vital component within the Chief Credit Office, playing a crucial role in advancing the Group's Sustainability and Helping Britain Prosper initiatives by facilitating structured financing for UK infrastructure and supporting the shift towards renewable energy.
Our responsibilities include the independent credit evaluation and approval of financial facilities extended to entities engaged in the infrastructure and project finance domains. Our primary asset classes encompass Renewables, Public Finance Initiatives (PFI), Economic and Digital Infrastructure, and Energy Transition Technologies.
Our objective is to establish an exemplary credit function that bolsters a market-leading franchise while exploring new growth avenues beyond the UK.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct independent credit evaluations for presentation to sanctioning authorities, enabling informed decision-making. This entails analyzing company-prepared data, performing extensive technical and market due diligence, and identifying key strengths and vulnerabilities. Submissions may include new banking business, increased lending, variations from existing terms, restructures, and annual credit reviews. Collaborate with originators, relationship managers, product partners, clients, and, when necessary, shape structured credit proposals to maintain an acceptable balance of risk and reward. Monitor and manage credit exposures to identify any increases in risk profile, communicating with senior Risk colleagues and sanctioners, as well as other relevant parties, to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Conduct customer, sector, and market research to ensure assessments incorporate an external perspective and apply sound judgment to ensure relevant material is included when evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of a lending proposal. This includes sensitivity analysis of internal and external cash flow models. Maintain records to meet internal and external requirements, particularly regarding data quality and statutory reporting. You will assess proposed transactions against Group Policy and oversee the deal origination team in this regard.We foster a supportive learning environment, emphasizing teamwork and personal growth. Required Qualifications
Existing experience in credit risk management within the infrastructure and project finance sectors (including renewables), with a deep technical understanding of these areas. Familiarity with UK and US jurisdictions is advantageous. Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge the status quo while comfortably articulating your recommendations. Ability to manage conflicting demands while meeting tight deadlines. Quick adaptability to new challenges.
