Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at CBRE Local UK. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for providing reactive and planned maintenance services to our clients, ensuring that their buildings are safe, secure, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality maintenance services to our clients, including building fabric, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and specific engineering services.
  • Act as a key customer contact, supporting the Technical Supervisor and Workplace Experience Manager in ensuring that maintenance services are delivered to the agreed standard.
  • Engage with customers on site to ensure compliance with our waste management policy.
  • Work in line with CBRE Health & Safety policy, ensuring that safe systems of work are always adopted.
  • Ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, statutory requirements, and engineering standards.
  • Provide a planned and reactive maintenance service, ensuring that operational standards, process, and procedures are followed.
  • Proactively update customers regarding the status of incomplete planned and reactive tasks.
  • Provide general building fabric maintenance and repairs, including L8 responsibilities, weekly fire alarm tests, and handyman tasks.
  • Cover on call to make areas safe and support with waste management.
  • Carry out grounds maintenance works, including litter picking, grass cutting, and clearing weeds and debris.
  • Work with specialist colleagues to support building uplift and refit projects.
  • Report risk, loss, or defect to the Workplace Experience Manager and Technical Supervisor for corrective actions.
  • Ensure Site Activity eLog books are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage consumable stock, tools, and equipment.
  • Support with contractor management and ATW process.

Person Specification:

  • Fully conversant with all relevant HSE requirements and their effective application.
  • Diligent, with an eye for quality and attention to detail, acting with a sense of urgency to put things right for customers.
  • The ability to constructively challenge established thinking and implement new practices or approaches for the benefit of customers and CBRE.
  • Proven experience within a similar role and/or willingness and aptitude to learn new skills.
  • A good standard of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Appropriate knowledge of Health and Safety and environmental requirements related to delivery of the assigned tasks.
