We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Nurse to join our team at Coombefield Veterinary Hospital in Axminster, Devon.

About the Role

The Deputy Head Nurse will be responsible for deputising in the absence of the Head RVN, managing all aspects of the nursing team, and ensuring the highest standard of patient care is delivered and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deputise in the absence of the Head RVN, managing all aspects of the nursing team.
  2. Ensure the highest standard of patient care is delivered and maintained.
  3. Support the Head RVN in the smooth running of the hospital, being available to direct the team and allocate duties appropriately.
  4. Support the Head RVN in other projects involving the nursing team and running of the hospital.
  5. Clinical coaching of SVNs and support of other clinical coaches in the practice as needed.

About Us

Coombefield Veterinary Hospital is a large, purpose-built hospital practice in Axminster, with a branch practice in Seaton. We have a separately staffed, dedicated OOH night service called Three Counties Veterinary Emergencies, working out of our Axminster site with surrounding practices feeding into this service.
