Lead Veterinary Nurse Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional Head Veterinary Nurse to promote the highest level of clinical care and lead our team of veterinary professionals.
About the Role:
- Lead and inspire a team of 24 RVNs, SVNs, and VCAs to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of a busy hospital and branch surgery, ensuring smooth operations and high clinical standards.
- Facilitate continuing professional development (CPD) for all staff, with a focus on nursing excellence and team growth.
- Manage complex rotas, including scheduling and staff allocation, to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Motivate and support the wellbeing of our team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Coordinate work experience placements and clinical coaching for apprentices and student nurses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical care and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with veterinary surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage and maintain high-quality facilities, including operating theatres, dental suite, imaging suite, and isolation wards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Contribute to the development of our team, including mentoring and coaching.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a senior veterinary nurse or in a leadership role.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary nursing practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Ability to manage complex rotas and staff allocation.
- Experience with CPD facilitation and team development.
