About the Role:

If you are dedicated to making a significant impact by assisting at-risk youth, we invite you to consider this opportunity.

We operate a specially designed facility where we provide support to young individuals aged 16-24 who are currently experiencing homelessness. Our residents have diverse support requirements and benefit from our assistance around the clock. The primary objective of our service is to help these young people enhance their independent living capabilities while facilitating their reintegration into the community.

In this role, you will engage in various activities, which may include assisting residents with immigration matters, providing support for substance use challenges, enjoying leisure activities together, or facilitating wellness walks in nearby parks. You will also be responsible for organizing engaging activities for the young individuals in our care.

During their stay, residents will participate in developing essential life skills, such as self-esteem building, nurturing positive relationships, cooking, and financial management, alongside therapeutic activities like art sessions and gardening.

Our tailored support for education, training, or employment is designed to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each individual, ranging from initial guidance and volunteer opportunities to referrals for educational programs, apprenticeships, and job placements. We collaborate with local organizations and specialized support services to enhance our focus on well-being, self-care, mental and physical health, life skills, education, and employment.

A crucial aspect of this position involves empowering residents to access necessary resources from external agencies. Therefore, you will need to establish and maintain relationships with various organizations to assist residents in navigating processes related to benefits, housing, and education.

It is essential to possess knowledge of safeguarding practices and an understanding of the factors contributing to homelessness, as well as the challenges faced by individuals in these situations. Familiarity with both statutory and voluntary resources available to homeless individuals is also required.

Work Schedule:

You must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we do not offer sponsorship. This role requires flexibility to work shifts on a pre-arranged rotating schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
