Senior Synthetic Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Chemist to join our team at Biosynth, a leading life sciences reagents and custom synthesis company. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of chemistry for custom synthesis projects.
Key Responsibilities- Execute laboratory work following provided synthetic routes and contribute to other projects when problems are encountered during synthesis.
- Design and develop chemistry for custom synthesis projects, working efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Carry out characterisation and data analysis, ensuring all laboratory work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Prepare progress and final project reports, and manage Synthetic Chemist 1, Synthetic Technicians, or industrial placement students as applicable.
- MSc or PhD in Chemistry with industry experience in large-scale manufacturing.
- Proven record in a wide range of synthetic chemistry, with experience in carbohydrate, nucleoside, or related research an advantage.
- Experience in process development for large-scale manufacturing, ideally with experience of 20 ltr scale chemistry process.
- Process chemistry experience desirable.
