Job Title: Adult Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Band 7 clinical psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at North Tyneside General Hospital, working within Mental Health Services for Older People.

The successful candidate will work closely with a supportive team, including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to provide high-quality individualized care to older adults with functional and organic presentations.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional development under the supervision of more senior psychologists, with the potential to move to the next pay band upon completion of an agreed set of competencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological/neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and therapy for older people with mental health difficulties.
  • Offer advice to colleagues and carers on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for clinical governance of own work according to trust policies.
  • Undertake R&D activities for audit, policy, and service development in conjunction with service leads.
  • Supervise and support the clinical activities of assistants and trainees in CHP.
  • Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
