About the Role

We are seeking two enthusiastic Band 7 clinical psychologists to join our Mental Health Services for Older People team at North Tyneside General Hospital.

The successful candidates will work alongside a supportive and cohesive multidisciplinary team, including nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers. The role will involve working with older adults with functional and organic presentations, providing therapy and neuropsychological assessment.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional development under the supervision of more senior psychologists.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, effective applied psychology services to older adults.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and interventions for patients.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for clinical governance of own work.
  • Undertake research activities for audit, policy, and service development.
  • Supervise and support the clinical activities of assistants and trainees.
  • Role model compassionate and inclusive leadership to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
Person Specification
  • Doctorate in clinical or counselling or health psychology that confers eligibility for registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the range of care settings.
