Job Title: Adult Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Adult Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at North Tyneside General Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers to provide high-quality psychological services to older adults with functional and organic presentations.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing psychological/neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and therapy for older people with mental health difficulties. They will also provide advice to colleagues and carers on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a focus on delivering excellent patient care. They will be part of an expanding MHSOP psychology service and will work closely with other professionals to provide a comprehensive range of services.

The post-holder will be expected to provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff, in accordance with service needs. They will also be responsible for utilising research skills for clinical audit and to inform service development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological/neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and therapy for older people with mental health difficulties
  • Provide advice to colleagues and carers on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care, and treatment
  • Work closely with other professionals to provide a comprehensive range of services
  • Provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff, in accordance with service needs
  • Utilise research skills for clinical audit and to inform service development

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled and enthusiastic Adult Clinical Psychologist
  • Experience of working with older adults with mental health difficulties
  • Ability to work closely with other professionals to provide a comprehensive range of services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide clinical supervision to less experienced staff
