Senior Category Manager - Information Services, Professional Services, R&D Materials, Hybrid, SC/DV Cleared, Outside IR35

Bangura Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Senior Category Manager to join our team. As a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies for assigned sub-groups of categories, balancing short and long-term objectives to meet business strategy and efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have senior-level category-specific experience in Information Services, Professional Services, or R&D Materials and Equipment, as well as in-depth market knowledge in the category area. You will be a true Subject Matter Expert (SME) with the ability to provide advisory and guidance experience in high-profile procurements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies for assigned sub-groups of categories, balancing short and long-term objectives to meet business strategy and efficiencies.
  • Deliver efficiencies and cost savings through strategic sourcing and contract management.
  • Implement ways of working according to the organisation's Category Management Framework, including the delivery of category targets and KPIs for assigned groups of spend categories.
  • Contribute to the long-term business by ensuring competitive initial cost and total cost development in the product and service life cycle and maintenance of the specific supplier contract for products and services.
  • Prepare and execute the RFx process in collaboration with stakeholders, including supplier evaluation and selection, supplier negotiations (costs and contract).
  • Provide commercial assurance to deliver commercial value through contractual and commercial management and effective contract administration.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support and execute complex strategic sourcing activities in line with approved category strategies and preferred suppliers list.
  • Responsible for contractual and commercial management and effective contract administration to the relevant team.
