Job Title: Pupil Support Officer - Hairdressing Specialist

City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pupil Support Officer - Hairdressing Specialist to join our team at Craigroyston Community High School.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term position until 26th June, with a possibility of mobility to a different school. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver hairdressing modules for learners in the school's fully equipped Hairdressing Salon.
  • Work closely with the school's curriculum team to develop and implement vocational courses.
  • Provide support to pupils with additional support needs, including those with learning difficulties.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Hairdressing background and relevant qualifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, and external partners.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment.
