Position Overview: The Finance Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a Purchase Ledger team of seven, ensuring the efficient and timely processing of all invoices and payments in accordance with company protocols across all group entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve all invoice discrepancies and payment issues to maintain a well-organized ledger.
  • Provide support to the Group Commercial Manager during their absence, assisting all transactional departments and departmental leaders.
  • Drive process improvements and innovative ideas to enhance the company's readiness for future growth and acquisitions.
  • Manage team workloads to ensure accurate and timely data processing while adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor accounts closely to optimize cash flow, ensuring supplier accounts are settled within agreed terms and reconciled with statements.
  • Uphold the purchase ledger policy and payment cycle.
  • Develop and maintain insightful management reports on key performance indicators.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring the ledger aligns with the trial balance.
  • Lead initiatives that promote advancements and efficiencies within the purchase ledger function, transitioning to a more streamlined digital system.
  • Support the Credit Control Team and assist the Credit Manager by providing insights and recommendations for future projects aimed at reducing the debtor book.
  • Assist in the management of the VSB team, collaborating with the VSB Manager to enhance efficiency and reduce reliance on paper-based processes.
  • Facilitate the integration of acquisitions into company practices, aiding those entities in effectively implementing policies within their teams.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as necessary to support the team's objectives.
