Electrical Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Skilled Careers. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems and equipment in a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled PPM and reactive maintenance tasks to maintain site assets and ensure equipment availability.
  • Ensure routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment, and systems to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  • Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
  • Ensure Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the L8 standard.
  • Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  • Keep comprehensive maintenance records in the form of task sheets.
  • Prepare and adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices.
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure they comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in a commercial environment.
  • Qualified to electrical City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of SFG20.
  • Ability to supervise subcontractors.
  • Minimum 2 references from work completed in the past 5 years.
  • Own safety boots and basic hand tools.

Working Hours and Rate:

8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Starting hourly rate is £24 per hour minimum.
