Position Summary

We are seeking a Solar Analyst to join our Solar Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team, assisting our Asset Managers.

This position is primarily office-based, with options for hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership and Support: Take charge of supporting the Asset Management team in managing their portfolio of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic plants, ensuring all operational and maintenance tasks align with the agreed contractual framework.
  • Monitoring: Utilize monitoring software to oversee site performance, generating monthly and annual availability reports and addressing ad hoc performance analysis requests.
  • Contract Management: Assist the Asset Management team in executing preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and warranty terms.
  • Fault Management: Oversee fault ticket processes (opening, closing, updating) while adhering to contractual response times.
  • Contractor Oversight: Evaluate internal performance metrics to ensure all obligations are fulfilled.
  • Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ): Implement health and safety best practices, including raising work orders and coordinating site inductions, ensuring all operations comply with the UK HSE system and CDM regulations.
  • Performance Reporting: Manage and produce monthly, annual, and ad hoc reports for external stakeholders, including performance and availability calculations by contractual deadlines.
  • Internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Report weekly to the Lead Asset Manager on the status of contract deliverables, including reporting, performance calculations, and maintenance updates.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: A degree is preferred but not mandatory; significant experience in a similar role or transferable skills will also be considered. Candidates should possess strong common sense and the ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in asset management of solar assets or related technologies is desirable.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with solar technology, solar farm operations, SCADA systems, and UK HSE legislation is advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities are essential for this role, with attention to detail and the capability to manipulate and assess data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary for negotiating and collaborating at all levels.
  • Personal Attributes: A naturally organized and logical thinker who can manage competing priorities and diverse workloads while meeting deadlines.
  • IT Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to quickly learn other digital platforms.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required due to the nature of the role.
