Job Description

Job Title: Operational Risk Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk Analyst to join our Risk and Compliance team at Gatehouse Bank plc. As an Operational Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing the Bank's approach to Operational Risk by supporting the enhancement of the Bank's control framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assure the effectiveness of the Bank's control framework by conducting control testing across all functions.
  • Test adherence to policies and risk appetite, including escalation via appropriate channels.
  • Assess the risks associated with first-line-of-defence (1LOD) business line activities.
  • Compile and maintain a complete control framework for risk management activities.
  • Support business lines and functions to identify risks from the First Line.
  • Undertake quality reviews, taking a risk-based approach.
  • Monitor output from all 1LOD areas to identify potential operational risks.
  • Provide support with remediation of control failures and compliance breaches.
  • Support the Operational Risk Manager to develop Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite metrics.
  • Support business areas with Risk & Control Self Assessments.
  • Assist with the production of high-quality reports and presentation packs.
  • Ensure all Risk Incidents are documented and root cause is established.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of UK banking (Customer Service, Credit, Financial Crime, Operations) and risk management & controls principles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk control arrangements.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes.
  • Understanding of and compliance with group policies, including Conduct Risk.
