Job Summary

Fife Council is seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. As a key member of our community safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe passage of children and other members of the community across designated roads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend designated patrol points daily at school opening and closing times to ensure safe crossing of children and other community members.
  • Work collaboratively with local schools and community groups to promote road safety awareness and education.
  • Provide assistance to children and vulnerable members of the community as needed.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in road safety and community engagement.

Requirements

  • No formal qualifications are necessary, but a good understanding of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code and previous experience working with children is desirable.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and attend patrol points daily.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and community members.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and school holidays.
