Splunk Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to join our Cyber Security Operations team at Sopra Steria - UK, a leading provider of technology and consulting services to the Aerospace, Defence and Security sector.
As a senior engineer, you will possess strong technical analytical skills and provide accurate analysis of vendor-related and security-related problems. You should have a well-rounded networking background and experience with security and SIEM-based technologies, including Splunk, in a rapidly paced SOC environment.
This role is hybrid, with 3 days in our Hemel Hempstead office and 2 days working from home.
- Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across a wide variety of data sets to identify security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collect and record data from various sources, including intrusion detection and protection systems, antivirus software, and content deny lists, to support specialized cyber defence applications.
- Perform system administration tasks on specialized cyber defence applications and systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
- Lead senior-level security incident response efforts, including code and malware analysis.
- Develop and implement effective SIEM designs, setups, configurations, and tuning to ensure optimal security and performance.
- Utilize AWS and Azure skills and certifications to design and implement secure cloud-based solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong coding skills and experience with Splunk and SIEM technologies.
- Experience with AWS and Azure, including certifications and hands-on experience.
- Senior-level security incident response experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
