Job Description

Job Summary:

CBS Butler is seeking a highly skilled Splunk Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security Operations team in the Aerospace, Defence and Security Sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the health of our Security technology stack, implementing and assisting SOC Analysts in support of MSSP services, and supporting incidents across all customers.

About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned Security Engineer with strong technical analytical skills and experience in SIEM tool knowledge. You will be responsible for:

  • Advising on security ecosystem design decisions for Cloud, on-prem, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments.
  • Consulting on third-party cloud hosting environments, tooling, and standard methodology.
  • Crafting security solutions focused on SOC/SIEM.
  • Performing security reviews and identifying security gaps in security architecture.
  • Implementing, maintaining, and supervising operational security systems, including SIEM, Threat Intelligence platforms, Malware analysis tools, and more.
  • Developing security controls and updating rules and signatures for specialized cyber defence applications.
  • Raising changes and investigating and responding to security incidents.

Requirements:

  • Splunk Cloud Certified Admin Certificate or Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin Certificate.
  • Current or previous experience in a Security Engineering role.
  • Senior-level experience in Security incident response, code/malware analysis, and strong coding skills.
  • Effective SIEM design, setup, configuration, and tuning experience.
  • Security Solution design experience with 'security in mind' based on customer requirements.
  • AWS and Azure skill with appropriate certifications and firsthand experience using AWS and Azure.

Desirable Skills:

  • Azure Sentinel or IBM QRadar experience.
