Service Charge Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Charge Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our Service Charge Accounts department, you will be responsible for ensuring the service charge accounts ledgers are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and presenting financial and management accounting reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaising with external accountants to ensure the accounts are certified and audited
  • Assisting the service charge accounts administrators with technical queries and tasks
  • Building relationships with the Property Management department and providing accounting insight
  • Reviewing ledgers for consistency and quality
  • Preparing regular and ad hoc financial management reports
  • Providing financial insight and assisting with budget preparation
  • Ensuring the service charge accounts team is effective and productive
Requirements:
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Service Charge Accounts experience and knowledge
  • Understanding of service charge requirements from the RICS Service Charge Residential Management Code
  • Strong financial and management accounting skills
  • Confident telephone manner and customer service skills
