Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Department Manager and other Group Leaders to identify and develop long-term strategic priorities, systems, processes, policies, and programs for the Department from a service line perspective.
- Team Management: Provide direction, training, performance management, professional development, and mentorship to team members within the Group.
- Client Engagement: Act as a primary point of contact with internal and external clients, ensuring high service quality standards are in accordance with client expectations.
- Business Development: Engage in business development initiatives and project pursuits to secure new work and clients.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical and project management expertise and oversight in support of project delivery by the Group.
- Financial Management: Oversee Group budgets and financial management, ensuring that the Group meets its financial objectives.
- Health and Safety: Oversee health and safety requirements of the Group and promote a safe workplace culture.
- Performance Management: Ensure all Group members represent the Company in the best light and are achieving established project targets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and determine the applicability of relevant local, provincial, and federal government regulations related to the work of the Group.
- Education: 4-year civil engineering degree.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
- Skills: Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of proposal submissions, project management, risk management, and contract administration.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of engineering, planning, environmental, and construction theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
- Financial Management: Extensive understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
- Health and Safety: Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Personal Qualities: Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
- Time Management: Exceptional time management skills to meet critical timelines.
