As the Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the design delivery process for the WINEP portfolio. Your responsibilities will encompass developing comprehensive engineering project plans, collaborating with discipline lead engineers to determine optimal design methods, and ensuring the implementation of robust quality procedures to achieve exceptional results from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design delivery for the WINEP project portfolio.
- Develop detailed Engineering Project Plans encompassing scope, program, cost, risk, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate effectively with Discipline Lead Engineers to determine suitable design methods.
- Assess project complexity and assign competent engineering resources accordingly.
- Implement rigorous design quality procedures to ensure right-first-time outcomes.
- Manage the design input provided by suppliers and subcontractors.
Project Delivery:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and value enhancement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide support to project programs and milestones, ensuring timely completion.
- Produce sustainable designs that minimize environmental impact.
Health & Safety:
- Undertake delegated duties of the Principal Designer, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Manage CDM competency assessments for all project personnel.
- Conduct thorough design risk assessments and implement measures to ensure a safe working environment.
People/Team Development:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the design team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Manage performance reviews and personal development plans for team members.
- Allocate resources effectively based on project priorities and individual skill sets.

- Support the team's transition into AMP8, embracing new technologies and processes.
