About the Role

As our Senior Design Manager (Water Recycling West), you'll spearhead a team of engineers responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of capital investment projects. These projects encompass critical infrastructure such as Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) and Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs), along with enhancements to Sewerage Treatment Works.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop the Engineering Team: Effectively plan and allocate resources, recruit and develop talent, ensuring your team consistently delivers high-quality engineering outputs.
  • Drive Innovation and Sustainability: Embrace cutting-edge digital technologies and develop sustainable solutions to minimize carbon footprint and protect natural capital, aligning with PAS 2080 principles.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Fulfill the role of CDM Principal Designer, championing a robust health, safety, and welfare culture within your team.
  • Collaborate and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration to achieve project goals.
  • Deliver Excellence: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Your Skills and Experience:

To excel in this role, you'll need a degree in Engineering, preferably with Chartered Engineer status. You'll also bring substantial experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams on complex capital projects. Your expertise in fulfilling the responsibilities of a CDM Principal Designer is crucial, ensuring safety and compliance across all design activities.

Your strong focus on sustainability and efficiency will drive the adoption of new technologies and solutions.
