The ideal candidate is a skilled relationship builder with a deep enthusiasm for sales.

This role involves promoting and selling consumables and instruments through various channels such as phone, email, and social selling platforms to customers and prospects identified by management. The candidate will employ a blend of sales techniques and tools to meet objectives. They should be organized, self-motivated, and adept at using telephone sales skills to foster customer relationships and develop consultative sales interactions. The position requires working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, maintaining administrative responsibilities, and documenting all activities in the CRM system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Activities

  • Achieve or surpass established sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted market segments
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities in the CRM system
  • Prepare quotations and pricing agreements in accordance with pricing policies
  • Engage in necessary training sessions to enhance product knowledge
  • Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure comprehensive customer service and enhance value-selling opportunities

Customer Support

  • Coordinate with internal support teams on customer inquiries related to complaints and application questions
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of all customer queries

General Responsibilities

  • Conduct effective online demonstrations
  • Utilize all features of the CRM software system
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge to support customer needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Prior outbound phone sales experience with defined sales objectives
  • A minimum of 2 years of sales or inside sales experience in a related industry is preferred
  • Experience in a life science laboratory setting is advantageous

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential
  • Fluency in CRM usage for daily operations and maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to compose business correspondence and reports
  • Confident, persuasive, and engaging phone presence
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, percentages, and volumes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comprehensive selling skills and techniques, including negotiation
  • Ability to work independently is crucial

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in business English and French is required
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are necessary
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% of the time
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in the workplace

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in selling capital equipment
  • Laboratory experience with pipettes is a plus
