Position: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO)

Academics is in search of a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator to lead the development and execution of strategies for students with special educational requirements or disabilities. The SENCO will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing environment that aligns with educational standards and promotes student welfare.

  • Ensuring adherence to the Special Educational Needs Policy and aligning goals with the institution's strategic plan.
  • Keeping abreast of national and local developments pertinent to special educational needs education.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of resource allocation and proposing enhancements.

Qualifications for the SENCO Position:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least two years of teaching experience.
  • Completion of the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination within three years of taking on the role.
  • Knowledge of the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice.
  • Comprehension of effective teaching methodologies and intervention techniques.
  • Proficient in planning, assessment, and documentation practices.
