Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of our students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, promoting their independence and self-confidence.
- Assist teachers in the delivery of lessons, ensuring that students receive the support they need to access the curriculum.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans, ensuring that students' needs are met and their progress is monitored.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date with best practices in special education and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Basic IT skills, including the use of educational software and digital tools.
- Good understanding of special educational needs and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
