About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our Crisis and Home Treatment Service (CAHTS) team, embedded within the Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing intensive, short-term support to children and young people experiencing complex mental health needs, with the aim of reducing longer-term mental health problems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and deliver time-limited interventions to address emotional and mental health needs of young people in crisis.
  • Work closely with the Getting More Help Teams to support children, young people, and their families experiencing complex mental health needs.
  • Liaise with wider CAMHS, colleagues in Children Services, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for our service users.
  • Participate in a flexible working pattern within the multi-disciplinary team to provide cover for core days and on-call services.
Requirements
  • RMN/Social Worker/OT/other relevant professional qualification.
  • Registered to practice in the UK.
  • Knowledge of DBT and CBT.
  • Experience of caseload management, complex conditions, and cases.
  • Experience of care coordination, lead professional, and evidence-based practice.
