Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning team to provide strategic support for all aspects of project planning, ensuring consistent and competent monitoring, recording, and analysis of performance against baseline and the change control process.
  • Develop and implement business strategy that identifies and embeds planning lessons learned, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Establish and maintain a highly motivated programme planning team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Manage the implementation of planning work processes and procedures in accordance with approved pathways and deviations.
  • Assess and determine the need for change to planning processes and methods, implementing changes to deliver improved performance.
  • Assess contractual schedules and compensation events to support the business in schedule-related commercial aspects.
  • Analyse, review, and highlight critical time schedule issues, ensuring viable resolution plans are in place.
  • Identify and analyse performance across a programme of critical path projects.
  • Plan and manage complex multi-project programme time schedules to ensure delivery of intended business benefits.
  • Conduct project controls orientation/training sessions for programme teams and assist senior management with the interpretation of periodic time schedule/cost reports.
  • Provide ongoing training for those in the business unit planning pool to manage capability assessment/development.
  • Collate best practice intelligence from both external and internal sources to be shared with central areas/business units.
  • Accountable for driving and leading a positive safety culture within projects and ensuring team investment in managing and improving HSE performance.

Requirements

  • Exposure to working as a Primavera P6 project planner on large-scale construction/civils/infrastructure projects, ideally for a tier 1 contractor or a client-side consultancy.
  • A construction-related degree (civil/structural engineering, or construction/project management or equivalent).
  • Digitally savvy, with the ability to build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
  • A construction or project management background and a hunger to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
