Meridian Business Support is pleased to collaborate with a prominent independent 4x4 dealership in the UK to seek a Human Resources Consultant.

With over five decades of experience, our client boasts a vast selection of premium vehicles available at their cutting-edge multi-level showroom.

The Human Resources Consultant will be instrumental in the strategic development and upkeep of the workforce. This position is vital for not only attracting but also retaining exceptional talent within the organization.

This role encompasses managing the complete recruitment cycle, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both applicants and hiring managers.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Regularly engage with departmental hiring managers to gather detailed requirements for each vacancy, ensuring candidate suitability and clarity of roles.
2. Develop effective and appealing job postings tailored to specific positions.
3. Strategically advertise job openings across various recruitment platforms to maximize reach and effectiveness.
4. Monitor and respond to all inquiries in the Careers inbox.
5. Lead all recruitment initiatives, including assessment centers, liaising with recruitment agencies, and promoting employee engagement through referral programs.
6. Provide regular updates on recruitment progress to hiring managers, line managers, and directors.
7. Review incoming applications and conduct initial phone screenings to assess compatibility with role requirements, qualifications, and organizational culture.
8. Create and maintain a shortlist of high-potential candidates for further evaluation.
9. Initiate prompt contact with strong candidates to enhance engagement and maintain interest.
10. Coordinate and schedule in-person interviews with hiring managers.
11. Conduct thorough background pre-employment screenings, including reference checks, driving license verifications, and proof of qualifications to confirm candidate suitability.
12. Ensure that all necessary documentation for new hires is drafted, collected, processed, and securely stored in an orderly manner prior to their start date.
13. Set up new starters on the HR system with a working pattern and annual leave, and enroll them in relevant training before their start date.
14. Assist with the induction and onboarding process for new employees.
15. Maintain accurate records on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Human Resource Information System (HRIS).

Person Specification:
- High energy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Possess a level 3 CIPD qualification and/or be pursuing a level 5 CIPD qualification with active CIPD membership.
- Proficient in the use of ATS, HRIS, job boards, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Human Resources Consultant or recruitment role.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage individual workload effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrates integrity and approachability, understanding the importance of confidentiality.
- Capable of using initiative and making informed decisions.
