Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support plant leadership in achieving operational and financial objectives by developing and maintaining effective manufacturing processes while spearheading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Collaborate with your team to create and uphold efficient, cost-effective manufacturing processes and product configurations that align with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct root cause and failure analyses as necessary to drive improvements.
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives and foster a culture of ongoing enhancement.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing methodologies to minimize waste and meet customer expectations.
  • Implement strategies to reduce process variation.
  • Enhance team capabilities in identifying sources of variation through Six Sigma Design and Development techniques.
  • Engage in concurrent engineering efforts and critical design reviews to optimize product development costs and extend product lifespan.
  • Execute Design For Manufacturing and Value Engineering projects as applicable.
  • Create work breakdown structures to facilitate accurate cost estimations.
  • Participate in new product development initiatives using ProLaunch to define deliverables and commit to timelines.
  • Coordinate manufacturing liaisons for products from inception to delivery.
  • Integrate innovative processes and methodologies to provide competitive advantages.
  • Recommend Capital Appropriation Requests, including payback and net present value analyses, for equipment acquisition to support emerging and existing technologies.
  • Oversee the training of associates in alignment with APEX and OCA expectations.
  • Communicate the organization’s vision through effective verbal communication and actions.
  • Collaborate with various functions to prepare consolidated plant, customer, and product status reports and action plans.
  • Develop, implement, and audit complex process procedures and work instructions, both in-house and within the supplier base, to resolve production and quality challenges and achieve overall business goals.
  • Ensure the development and monitoring of robust plans to meet functional KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering design and product reliability concepts to analyze fluid dynamics, thermal dynamics, electronic circuits, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, including value stream mapping and one-piece flow.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and tools related to minimizing process and product variability, such as regression analysis and design of experiments.
  • Strong grasp of problem-solving methodologies for root cause determination and corrective actions, including thought maps and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
  • Proficient in various software applications, including Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, and MS Office suite.
  • Awareness of industry-specific quality processes (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100).
  • Knowledge of product specifications and testing requirements.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles and technical specifications relevant to facilities competencies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams.
  • Experience in customer and supplier interactions, including presentations and negotiations.
