Job Summary

The University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and proactive Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist to join its team at the UHNM Heart Centre. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high-quality care environment, providing anaesthetic services for complex procedures, including aorto-vascular work, Mitral Clip, Minimal Invasive Cardiac Bypass Surgery, and TAVI.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will work within the integrated cardiac services, which include Cardiothoracic Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and a comprehensive Cardiology Department. The service is expanding, and the ideal candidate will be focused on providing the highest possible standard of patient care and contributing to service growth, development, and innovation.

About the Role

The Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist will be responsible for providing anaesthetic services for cardiac and thoracic surgeries, working closely with the cardiac and thoracic surgical teams. The successful candidate will have experience working as a Fellow or an Advanced Trainee in CT Anaesthesia and will be able to demonstrate independent TOE skills.

  • FRCA or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Experience working as a Fellow or an Advanced Trainee in CT Anaesthesia
