We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distribution Supervisor to join our team at Breedon Group plc. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for driving performance and efficiency within the distribution function.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development of a performance culture within the distribution team, ensuring effective and efficient customer interface from enquiry to order receipt and despatch.
- Build stakeholder relationships with hauliers, customers, and drivers to maximize performance and synergies in the delivery of materials.
- Work with local management to ensure customer deliveries are met cost efficiently, harmonizing working between departments.
- Identify opportunities for logistical efficiencies and synergies, reducing haulage costs and maximizing truck utilization.
- Act as a point of escalation for queries from internal drivers, external hauliers, and owner drivers to maximize performance and synergies.
- Liaise with Transport Manager on compliance issues, excessive costs, vehicle issues, and fleet size.
- Flexible, proactive, and versatile approach to work.
- Energetic "hands-on" approach and ability to anticipate problems and consider solutions.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, along with sound strategic, budgetary, and financial knowledge.
- Ability to perform and lead the team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Genuine interest in the construction materials industry and commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
