Location: Palmers Green, London

We are seeking a full-time, Level 3 qualified Assistant Nursery Manager to join our Bright Horizons Palmers Green Nursery and Preschool, located in a vibrant area of North Central London, easily accessible via public transport.

This exceptional 64-place facility is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and is housed in a beautifully renovated property, featuring spacious, well-equipped rooms and a fantastic outdoor garden and terrace area, ideal for outdoor education and play.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team to provide outstanding care and education to all children
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead when necessary, overseeing the daily operations of the nursery and managing safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet the needs of each child
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive, safe, and enjoyable working environment
  • Promote the nursery to current and prospective parents to enhance retention and support occupancy growth
  • Ensure the nursery's financial success by managing expenditures in line with FTEs and budget KPIs
  • Engage with the Local Authority to understand local offerings and enhance practices throughout the nursery

What we are looking for

  • Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as a Third in Charge, Room Leader, Early Years Educator, or similar role
  • Confident decision-maker with experience in providing support and leadership to enable staff to fulfill their roles
  • Strong knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and relevant legislative requirements for working with children
  • Ability to establish trust and strong working relationships with colleagues and parents
  • Proficient in using various communication techniques with both children and adults
