Position Overview:
We are in search of a committed and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager, who has a background in supporting the leadership of a thriving nursery and caring for children aged 0 to 5 years.

The successful candidate will confidently innovate, developing exceptional early years practices, nurturing team development, and maintaining world-class communication. A proven history of establishing strong and meaningful partnerships with parents is essential.

You will assist in leading a team of highly qualified Early Years Practitioners and will be expected to expand this team, attracting top talent as the nursery evolves.

A keen understanding of early years best practices and a robust professional network are crucial for this role. You should aim to elevate both your position and that of the nursery, particularly during times of change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster excellent relationships with parents and caregivers, developing a strong partnership between home and nursery.
  • Engage fully in all nursery activities, encouraging children to express themselves creatively while supporting colleagues.
  • Create a happy and supportive environment for the nursery team.
  • Assist the Nursery Manager in guiding and motivating the team through daily supervision, training, and performance reviews.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
  • Support children with special educational needs and collaborate with other professionals.
  • Coordinate in specific specialist areas and liaise with external agencies.
  • Ensure the highest standards of care and education for all children.
  • Address the individual needs of children through child-centered learning and play.
  • Safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of all children.
  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery regarding the environment, resources, and experiences offered to children.
  • Support the team in delivering high-quality practices in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), making a lasting, positive impact on children's well-being, learning, and development.
  • Promote the nursery to prospective families.
  • Attend staff meetings, parent evenings, and open day events.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Level 3 full and relevant Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a nursery or daycare setting.
  • Experience working with young children in a nursery or daycare environment.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices.
  • Effective communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children.
