Key Responsibilities

As part of the aerodynamic team, you will utilize your expertise in race car aerodynamics across various settings, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Wind Tunnel testing, and on-track evaluations, to refine development strategies and enhance the long-term aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicles.

In your role as Senior Aerodynamicist, your duties will encompass:

  • Innovative Aerodynamic Development: Employ advanced tools and methodologies to conceive and present state-of-the-art aerodynamic designs for experimental validation.
  • Guidance for Junior Team Members: Mentor less experienced aerodynamicists, aiding in their professional growth and enhancing their contributions.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and execute enhancements to workflows within the aerodynamics division.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Partner with colleagues to determine essential tools and technologies that will expedite development timelines.
  • Wind Tunnel Test Management: Support the planning and execution of Wind Tunnel experiments, ensuring precision and efficiency in all operations.
  • CFD & Wind Tunnel Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret CFD and Wind Tunnel results, providing comprehensive reports that inform effective aerodynamic solutions and recommendations.
  • Relationship Building: Foster open communication and information sharing within the department and across the broader organization to promote teamwork.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

  • Formula 1 Aerodynamics Experience: Proven track record in an aerodynamic role within a Formula 1 environment.
  • CFD and Wind Tunnel Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with CFD and Wind Tunnel methodologies.
  • Fundamental Aerodynamics Knowledge: Strong grasp of aerodynamic principles and their applications.
  • CAD & CFD Software Proficiency: Competence in relevant design and simulation software tools.
  • Effective Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to achieve results under pressure through strategic problem-solving techniques.
  • Strategic Insight: Experience in conducting thorough analyses, correlation studies, and innovative data applications.
  • Leadership and Influence: Capacity to foster collaboration and secure buy-in across various departments.
