About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Quality Specialist to join our Catchment and Drainage Team at HR Wallingford. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative research and consultancy solutions for our clients.

As a Water Quality Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialist expertise in water quality to help us tackle some of the world's most pressing water challenges. You will work closely with colleagues in catchment management, sustainable drainage, river morphology, water resources, environment, flood risk management, dams and reservoirs, and international development to expand our expertise, tools, and service offering.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist expertise in water quality to support research and consultancy projects;
  • Developing and applying catchment and in-stream water quality modelling tools;
  • Evaluating the impact of urban diffuse pollution and potential management strategies;
  • Collaborating with colleagues to shape and deliver water projects and research;
  • Driving water quality business and embedding this within the Flood and Water Management Team.

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background and an awareness of the necessary proposal and project management and delivery skills. You will have a minimum professional qualification of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, and a Master's degree or PhD would be preferable. Chartership through an appropriate institution would be advantageous.

  • Ability to drive water quality business and embed this within the Flood and Water Management Team;
  • A team player who is committed to helping consolidate and improve water quality skills across the Flood and Water Management Team.

We offer a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £65,000 (dependent on experience) and a range of benefits, including a defined contribution pension scheme, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, and health insurance providing dental/optical cash back.
