Role Overview:

We are seeking a Global Category Manager – Finished Goods to join our Global Procurement team. This pivotal position is essential for fostering a high-performance culture and establishing benchmarks for Procurement Excellence. The successful candidate will employ a strategic and innovative approach to Category Management as we advance our transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the comprehensive Global Category Management for finished goods medical devices within ConvaTec's External Manufacturing Procurement.
  • Develop long-term strategic plans that align with current and future business and customer needs.
  • Define category strategies through engagement with key stakeholders and suppliers to achieve optimal cost management, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage critical relationships to ensure alignment of Category Strategies with business requirements and supplier capabilities.
  • Implement category plans that deliver anticipated value to the organization.
  • Oversee the Source to Contract (S2C) process, identifying opportunities and managing sourcing strategies.
  • Ensure ongoing assessment and development of the supplier base to meet evolving business demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supplier performance and capabilities.
  • Ensure that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets are met for suppliers within your category.
  • May involve line management of Strategic Buyers to ensure timely execution of category plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Strategic Procurement/Sourcing environment, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • A degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Category Management principles with proven ability to develop and implement actionable strategies.
  • Experience with e-procurement tools for vendor evaluation and selection.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build and maintain a relevant stakeholder network.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Knowledge of financial principles and resource planning to support effective Category Plan delivery.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Able to foster innovative ideas and challenge the status quo with sustainable solutions.
  • Proficient in influencing stakeholders and advocating for best value for the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals in a matrix environment.
