Our Semiconductor Division leads the industry in advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools, along with automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) for silicon and compound semiconductor markets. This division provides a comprehensive portfolio of tools based on X-ray technologies, including X-ray reflectometry (XRR), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray diffraction imaging (XRDI), among others.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer for our X-Ray product line within the R&D department. The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing intricate frameworks, systems, or products.
  • Defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and ensuring hardware and software compatibility.
  • Developing system interfaces and prototypes for business applications while identifying and addressing design weaknesses.
  • Influencing future product designs by contributing to the overarching framework utilized across multiple systems.
  • Providing multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation developments.
  • Leading the architectural design and development of new tools.
  • Preparing requirements documentation and participating in design reviews.
  • Supporting the integration of Alpha and Beta tools and optimizing configurations.
  • Transferring knowledge and systems to production, including developing calibration processes and training support teams.
  • Characterizing and integrating new components into existing platforms.

We are looking for a pragmatic and results-driven individual to tackle challenging projects that will significantly influence current and future product offerings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a system or application engineer, preferably in semiconductor metrology.
  • Strong understanding of motion control and high-precision motion systems.
  • Experience with optical systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team on complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in clear and concise English communication, including mathematical descriptions when necessary.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related physical sciences field, or equivalent experience.
