Our Semiconductor Division leads the industry in advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools, along with automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) for silicon and compound semiconductor sectors. This division boasts the most extensive portfolio of tools based on X-ray technologies, including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging), among others.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled System Engineer for our X-Ray product line within our R&D department. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing comprehensive and intricate frameworks, systems, or products.
  • Defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and ensuring hardware and software compatibility.
  • Developing system interfaces and business application prototypes while identifying, analyzing, and rectifying system design vulnerabilities.
  • Influencing future product developments by contributing to the overarching framework (architecture) utilized across various products or systems.
  • Providing multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation advancements.
  • Leading new product development initiatives concerning tool architecture and design.
  • Preparing requirements documentation and participating in design reviews.
  • Supporting the integration process of Alpha and Beta tools and optimizing tool configurations.
  • Transferring knowledge and systems to production by developing and documenting calibration and alignment processes, preparing tool characterization test plans, creating test-jigs, and training technical support and production teams.
  • Characterizing and integrating new components into existing platforms.

We are looking for an individual with a pragmatic and results-oriented mindset to tackle challenging projects that will influence both current and future products.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a system or application engineer, preferably in semiconductor metrology.
  • Strong understanding of motion control and high-precision motion systems.
  • Experience with optical systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team on complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in clear and concise communication in English, including detailed mathematical descriptions when necessary.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • A degree in Engineering or a physical sciences discipline, or equivalent experience.
