Our Semiconductor Division leads the industry in advanced X-ray metrology and defect inspection tools, as well as automated atomic force microscopy (AAFM) for the silicon and compound semiconductor sectors. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of tools based on X-ray technologies, including X-ray reflectometry (XRR), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray diffraction imaging (XRDI), among others.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer for our X-Ray products within our Research and Development department. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing intricate frameworks, systems, or products.
  • Defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and compatibility parameters for hardware and software.
  • Developing system interfaces and prototypes for business applications while identifying and resolving design weaknesses.
  • Influencing future product development by contributing to the overarching architecture utilized across multiple systems.
  • Providing multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation advancements.
  • Leading the architectural design and development of new products.
  • Preparing requirements documentation and participating in design reviews.
  • Supporting the integration of Alpha and Beta tools and optimizing configurations.
  • Transferring knowledge and systems to production by developing calibration and alignment processes, preparing test plans, and training technical support and production teams.
  • Characterizing and integrating new components into existing platforms.

We are looking for a candidate with a pragmatic and results-oriented mindset, eager to tackle challenging projects that will influence both current and future products.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a systems or application engineer, preferably in semiconductor metrology.
  • Strong understanding of motion control and high-precision motion systems.
  • Experience with optical systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team on complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in clear and concise communication in English, including mathematical descriptions when necessary.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related physical sciences field, or equivalent experience.
