About the Role

Climate17 is seeking a highly skilled BESS Optimization Manager to join Innova's team. As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing revenue for Innova's growing portfolio of BESS projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the tendering process for BESS revenue optimization contracts, including the selection of preferred suppliers.
  • Work with lawyers and internal stakeholders to negotiate and execute BESS revenue optimization contracts.
  • Collaborate with the commercial, finance, engineering, and construction teams to coordinate and manage the interfaces between BESS project aspects.
  • Contribute to the wider commercial strategy around BESS projects, working with teams across the organization.
  • Implement a monitoring and benchmarking program for operational assets with the asset management team.
  • Represent Innova as the BESS revenue lead, attending industry meetings and conferences.
  • Feed into consultations and influence policy.
About You

We're looking for a strategic thinker with deep experience in the energy industry and a passion for renewable technology. You should have:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a commercial role with significant exposure to BESS revenue optimization in the UK.
  • A track record of negotiating and agreeing complex energy contracts.
  • A thorough knowledge of the UK electricity market, particularly the balancing and short-term trading markets.
  • Good commercial acumen and the ability to lead and challenge during commercial discussions.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a business area.
