Climate17 is seeking a highly skilled BESS Optimization Manager to join our client, a leading renewable energy company, as they embark on the next phase of growth.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the renewable energy industry, working with cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage Systems and driving our client's mission towards a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and optimize revenue for a growing portfolio of BESS projects, including managing tendering processes for revenue optimization contracts.
- Work with lawyers and other internal stakeholders to negotiate and execute BESS revenue optimization contracts.
- Coordinate and manage the interfaces between various aspects of BESS projects, working with commercial, finance, engineering, and construction teams.
- Feed into the wider commercial strategy around BESS projects, working with other teams across the organization.
- Implement a monitoring/benchmarking program for operational assets, working with the asset management team.
- Attend industry meetings and conferences in an ambassadorial capacity, feeding into consultations and influencing policy.
We're looking for someone with:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in the energy industry in a commercial role, with significant exposure to the revenue optimization of BESS facilities in the UK.
- A track record of negotiating and agreeing complex energy contracts.
- A thorough knowledge of the UK electricity market, particularly the balancing and short-term trading markets.
- Good commercial acumen and the ability to lead and challenge during commercial discussions and debates.
- High attention to detail and proven ability to lead and develop a business area.
