We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Transformation Team, where you will play a key role in delivering strategic projects that support the council's initiatives and priorities.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating improvement activities, gathering and analyzing project progress information, and preparing governance reports. You will also lead small and medium-sized projects to deliver service improvements and better value for money services for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct research and gather information on approaches adopted by other local authorities, public organizations, and private sector entities, relevant to specific projects.
- Collate programme information, including costs, progress, issues, and actions, for senior managers at programme meetings.
- Provide specialist advice and information to a range of customers, partner organizations, employees, key stakeholders, departments, and managers, ensuring policies meet legislative requirements and codes of practice.
- Review and resolve issues accurately and efficiently, relating to budgets, financial information, or resources for the area of specialism, ensuring targets are met, reports are prepared and delivered, data is managed effectively, and corrective action is taken when necessary.
- Offer high-quality and consistent services to customers, maintaining agreed standards across a wide range of services, adhering to Service Level Agreements, and taking ownership of responding and resolving queries, complaints, and requests from initial contact.
- A relevant professional or equivalent degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience of working in a business environment delivering similar services, with extensive knowledge and experience of contributing to developing processes, procedures, and projects.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and analytical skills, with the ability to make things clear and simple to understand, and well-developed interpersonal skills for persuading, influencing, and building relationships and communicating effectively with customers.
- Good analytical skills to help understand and analyze information, interpret complex data, and provide solutions and recommendations to achieve appropriate outcomes, and present it in a user-friendly way.
- The ability to monitor and report on budgets, financial information, and resources, and a good level of general IT skills and the ability to use appropriate specialist in-house software packages.
- Desirable experience in supporting project work in areas such as organizational improvement, value for money, performance management, project/programme management, and other similar initiatives.
