Job Summary

21HSC LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled Carers Gateway Short Breaks Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the application process and leading an assessment panel to ensure funds are distributed as widely and fairly as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Development: Design and develop the Carers Gateway Short Breaks programme, including oversight of Shared Care Scotland and other funding.
  • Profile Raising: Raise the profile of short breaks, particularly within hard-to-reach groups of carers, and expand the understanding of what is considered a short break.
  • Application Process: Oversee the digital application process and assist carers with their application as required.
  • Assessment Panel: Lead the assessment panel, plan meeting dates, and ensure all panel members have access to information prior to meeting.
  • Fund Disbursement: Ensure funds are dispersed to carers in as quickly as possible, while ensuring all internal processes are followed.
  • Budget Management: Manage the Short Breaks budget, ensuring carers return receipts so that an accurate audit trail is maintained.
  • Data Analysis: Work with the Admin & Evaluation Officer to collate data from the short breaks programme to support future planning, as well as monitoring and reporting.
Requirements
  • Education: Educated to standard grade General Level or equivalent in a minimum of four subjects, one of which should be English.
  • Experience: Experience in overseeing a large project is essential, as well as experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skills: Experience of managing a budget is desirable, and a driving licence is also desirable.
