About the Role

We are seeking a confident and friendly male support worker to work on a self-employed basis as a second carer for an active gentleman. The ideal candidate will have a valid UK driver's license and experience in handling people with severe learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the service user with personal care, eating, and drinking needs throughout the day
  • Take the service user on drives and trips out in the local area, ensuring his safety at all times
  • Report any changes in behavior or physical state to the service user's parents on return to the family home
  • Use the service user's vehicle and ensure that any damage or maintenance issues are reported as required
Requirements
  • Valid UK driver's license
  • Experience in handling people with severe learning difficulties
  • Enhanced DBS check
Working Hours

Flexible hours, Monday to Friday, up to 7 hours a day, £20.00 per hour

About the Service User

The service user is a 44-year-old male with cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal but communicates with sound and hand gestures. He requires support to eat, drink, and use the toilet, and an element of personal care is required. He requires constant care and supervision and cannot be left unattended.
