We are seeking a confident and friendly male support worker to work on a self-employed basis to provide care and support to an active gentleman with cerebral palsy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the service user on drives and trips out in the local area, ensuring his safety at all times.
  • Support the service user with any personal care, eating or drinking needs throughout the day.
  • Report any changes in behaviour or physical state to the service user's parents on return to the family home.
  • Use the service user's vehicle and ensure that any damage or maintenance issues are reported as required.

Requirements

  • A valid UK driving license is required.
  • Experience in handling people with severe learning difficulties is advantageous.
  • Experience in helping with personal care is preferred.
  • An enhanced DBS check is required.

Working Hours

Flexible hours, Monday to Friday, up to 7 hours a day, £20.00 per hour.

About the Service User

The service user is a 44-year-old male with cerebral palsy. He is non-verbal but communicates with sound and hand gestures. He is able to walk but requires mobility support in the form of hand/arm holding and a wheelchair at times. He requires support to eat, drink, and use the toilet. An element of personal care is therefore required.
