About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client's growing team in Hampshire. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of new build residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Control project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards.
  • Procurement: Manage tendering, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and ensure value for the company.
  • Valuations & Payments: Prepare interim valuations, monitor cash flow, and manage timely payments.
  • Contract Administration: Handle variations, contractual disputes, and administer contracts per relevant terms.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts, updating management regularly.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in residential construction and new build projects.
  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), cost management software, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
