Construction Cost Manager

Future Build Recruitment is working with a leading residential contractor in Hampshire, seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of new build residential projects, including cost management, procurement, and contracts. They will work closely with the project management team and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Control project budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery while maintaining high standards.
- Procurement: Manage tendering, negotiate with subcontractors/suppliers, and ensure value for the company.
- Valuations & Payments: Prepare interim valuations, monitor cash flow, and manage timely payments.
- Contract Administration: Handle variations, contractual disputes, and administer contracts per relevant terms.
- Financial Reporting: Produce cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts, updating management regularly.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior quantity surveyors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in residential construction and new build projects.
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC), cost management software, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with a meticulous eye for detail.
