About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Haematology Department at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the department's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process specialist investigations in the department, providing accurate and timely results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Provide specialist advice to clinicians on the appropriateness of tests and timescales, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Work independently and lead on specialist areas, taking ownership of projects and initiatives to drive departmental success.
  • Act as a mentor for junior scientific and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their development and growth.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality management systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Supervise and train less experienced staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
