Experienced Rigger

About the Role:
DNEG is seeking an experienced Rigger to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. As a key member of our Creature Animation department, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animation rigs for specialist characters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the CG Lead and Animation Lead to develop animation rigs for creature characters.
- Work closely with the R&D department to implement proprietary tools and technologies to aid in creating animation rigs.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of FACS and Animal FACS to ensure accurate and realistic character animation.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members to ensure high-quality results.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in character animation and rigging.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in creature/character animation and rigging.
- Thorough knowledge of FACS and Animal FACS.
- Full working knowledge of Maya.
- Strong understanding of human and animal anatomy.
- Understanding of the fundamental laws of physics.
- Fundamental animation knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Programming or scripting skills (i.e., MEL, Python, C++).
- Experience in USD / Solaris / Houdini.
- Knowledge of Facial Capture, MetaHuman, and other facial capturing tools.
