About The Role

A new opportunity has arisen for a seasoned product leader to join our Technology leadership team as the Head of Product. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving the transformation of Motability Operations into a product-led organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall tech product budget, leading the tech product domain teams across the organisation, and overseeing the strategy and management of technology products across Motability Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate a clear technical product vision that aligns with the company's strategic objectives and market trends. Work with the business areas to identify new market opportunities and drive the product roadmap to ensure a competitive advantage.
  • Product Development: Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing management, ensuring timely and high-quality product releases. Work closely with the engineering and business teams to define product requirements and specifications.
  • Customer Focus: Champion a customer-first mindset throughout the product management function. Stay closely connected with customers and stakeholders, gathering feedback, understanding pain points, and identifying opportunities for product improvement.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and make data-driven decisions. Regularly report on product performance and present updates to the executive team and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Play a strategic role in working with the business and technology leadership to agree and deliver strategic priorities across products. Be the voice of Product within Motability Operations, leading the transformation of the organisation into a product organisation.
  • Resource Management: Work closely with project and engineering teams to flexibly resource teams and deliver products for Motability Operations. Build internal Product teams where they do not already exist in the business.
  • Budgeting, Supplier and Cost Control: Prepare and manage the Product department budget, controlling expenses, and optimising spending while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product delivery managers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration within the product team and across departments.
About You

We are looking for a seasoned product leader with a proven track record of delivering innovative technology products. The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior product management role, ideally within the technology industry, and have previously managed the roadmap of multiple products across organisations. They will also have experience of developing a product capability and associated ways of working in an organisation.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. They will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
